ABOUT SHERIDAN COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY

Who We Are

The Sheridan County Republican Party is the local arm of the Wyoming and National Republican Party, representing thousands of registered Republicans across Sheridan County. We are your neighbors, local business owners, ranchers, veterans, parents, and community leaders, united by shared values and a commitment to constitutional government.

We believe the purpose of government is simple: to protect the unalienable rights of every individual to Life, Liberty, Property, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

The Sheridan County GOP stands firmly on the platform of the Wyoming Republican Party, grounded in timeless truths that guide our party regardless of changing political circumstances. Our core principles include:

LIFE

We believe all individuals are endowed by their Creator, from the moment of conception to natural death, with the rights to Life, Liberty, Property, and the Pursuit of Happiness. The only proper purpose of government is to protect these rights for all.

EQUALITY

Every citizen is equal before the law, equally protected by it, and equally subject to it.

SECOND AMENDMENT

The right of individuals to keep and bear arms and ammunition shall not be infringed, restricted, or denied. Individuals must never be prevented from defending their life, liberty, or property.

PRIVATE PROPERTY RIGHTS

We believe in the foundational right of every individual to acquire, keep, and enjoy their own property, free from arbitrary restriction. Individuals are always presumed to be the best stewards of their own property. We oppose the use of eminent domain, civil asset forfeiture, amortization, or inverse condemnation to threaten private property rights.

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

Freedom of faith is a God-given, fundamental natural right, secured by both the U.S. and Wyoming Constitutions. The First Amendment does not require the removal of religion from public life. Freedom of religion includes the right to abstain from actions contrary to one's religious beliefs.

FAMILY VALUES

We believe in God's created order of two sexes, male and female. Marriage is defined as the union of one man and one woman. The traditional family is the best institution for raising children and providing them with education and training for life.

LIBERTY

No medical procedure, modality, or treatment should ever be mandated under any circumstances. Liberty is inseparable from economic freedom. The free market is the economic system most compatible with personal freedom and constitutional government.

CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT

The citizens of the United States are the ultimate authority. Government derives its power only from the consent of the governed. Our constitutional republic is the best political system in history, designed to prevent tyranny, assure equality of opportunity, and protect individual rights. The Constitution may only be altered through the amendment process, not by judicial opinion or executive action.

AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM & BORDERS

The United States must maintain and defend its national borders and sovereignty, free from foreign and domestic interference. Foreign policy must serve the just interests of legal American residents.

MILITARY

We support a strong national defense. Those who serve our country honorably deserve our deepest gratitude, highest respect, and unwavering support.

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

Taxes must be used only for constitutional purposes of government. It is irresponsible to accumulate debts passed on to our children and grandchildren. Taxes should never exceed what is necessary to meet the government's constitutional obligations.

EDUCATION

We support the teaching of the U.S. Constitution, the Wyoming Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and other founding documents in Wyoming schools, along with accurate teaching of the historical role of faith and biblical principles in the founding of our nation.

WYOMING LAND & WATER RIGHTS

Wyoming holds primacy over its water, wildlife, minerals, natural resources, and lands. We support the doctrine of prior appropriations and any actions that preserve Wyoming's sovereignty over its land and water.

RIGHT TO WORK

We oppose the unionization of public employees and support Wyoming's Right to Work Law.

FREE SPEECH

Freedom of speech is a fundamental right secured by the U.S. and Wyoming Constitutions. Every individual has the right to express their beliefs, ideas, and opinions without fear of government retaliation, censorship, or legal sanction.

ELECTION INTEGRITY

The integrity of our elections must be upheld. We oppose any federal takeover or outside interference in federal, state, or local elections.
